The World's Labyrinth

The Labyrinth

Scholars consider the “World’s Labyrinth” to be the secret eighth wonder of the world, and some have called the effort to solve its mysteries “the strangest mix of mass collaboration and competition”. The four doors to the labyrinth, spread across the globe, gather thousands of curious visitors every year, though few venture inside.
The four doors are hidden away, with only three having confirmed, exact locations.

Quoddy Head State Park, Maine, U.S.A.
Found at the easter-most point of the continental United States, the door at Quoddy Head is the only door not accessible at all times. When the tide is too high, the door is submerged in water, and has even reportedly flooded parts of the Labyrinth. Despite this, the door at Quoddy Head is one of the most popular doors for those curious about the Labyrinth due to its ease of access.

Pripyat, Ukraine.
Once the most accessible door, Pripyat's Labyrinth door is now rarely visited due to the high levels of radiation in the area that resulted from the Chernobyl disaster in 1986. Tours of the Chernobyl disaster site often pass by the door, though visitors are banned from entering the door. The door is often staffed by workers to ensure that if anyone exits the door, they're given the proper protective equipment to stay healthy in Pripyat.

Little Sandy Desert, Australia.
In the Outback of Australia is the most popular door, often called the "Desert Door". The door in Little Sandy Desert sees the most visitors each year, with over a thousand visiting the pathway each month. Businesses have even sprouted up around the door, such as the "World's Labyrinth Gift Shop", hoping to take advantage of the mystery of the door and the maze that lies behind it. Entering through this door is the most carefully controlled, though, as the Australian government wants to ensure the safety of explorers who enter the Labyrinth through their door.

Amazon Rainforest, Brazil.
The fourth door has yet to be accurately located - the dense rainforest and dangerous terrain in the area has prevented large teams from finding the door. The only reason why researchers know the general location of the door is due to it being an exit for some Labyrinth explorers, who then lose the location upon trying to return.
